Project Overview
L’Oréal Paris commissioned a point-of-purchase acrylic display stand for its Pure Zone Cleansing and Deep Control skincare ranges. The objective was to design a visually striking retail unit that would attract attention in crowded pharmacy and cosmetics counters, while reinforcing the dermatological credibility and youthful freshness of the brand.
My Role: Concept development, structural design, and 3D visualization of the acrylic display.
Key Challenge: Balancing clinical, scientific trust cues with a modern lifestyle appeal that resonates with younger skincare consumers.
Design Approach
- Color Scheme: A fresh palette of clean blues and whites conveys purity, science, and skin clarity.
- Graphic Motifs: Circular target visuals emphasize deep cleansing and precision control, reinforcing the range’s positioning.
- Typography: Minimalist sans-serif type ensures clinical clarity while maintaining alignment with L’Oréal Paris branding.
- Material Choice: Acrylic construction provides gloss, durability, and a premium aesthetic suitable for modern retail spaces.
Visual Development
The design explored multiple variations, each highlighting different hero products and skincare technologies within the range:
- Cleansing Range Displays
- Feature ISOBacter Technology products with emphasis on purification and anti-bacterial action.
- Packshot compositions paired with lifestyle imagery to communicate freshness and clarity.
- Deep Control Displays
- Showcase PoreTarget Technology for targeted, in-depth cleansing and oil control.
- Clean layouts paired with clinical illustrations highlight the product’s science-driven benefits.

In-Store Visualization
To help stakeholders visualize its retail impact, the acrylic display was placed within a pharmacy shelf simulation. The result shows how the Pure Zone POP unit would stand out in a competitive skincare environment, drawing attention through clean acrylic construction, bold graphics, and clear product messaging.

In-Store Impact
To help stakeholders visualize the real-world presence, I placed the displays within pharmacy shelf and counter simulations. This highlighted how the clean acrylic design and strong branding cues could stand out in a competitive retail environment and reinforce L’Oréal’s scientific skincare authority.
Outcome
The Pure Zone POP displays delivered a premium retail presence that communicated product benefits at a glance, while staying true to L’Oréal’s global brand identity. The final design struck the right balance between clinical expertise and fresh, youthful energy, ensuring strong appeal for its target market.
