The Odd Hat Creative is a small Singapore-based studio for practical, experienced design support. I work with small businesses, agencies and marketing teams on projects that need clear thinking, careful production and a designer who understands what happens after the first concept is approved.
Design Rescue
Existing artwork that is nearly there, but not quite working. I can clean up hierarchy, typography, images and production files without forcing you to start again.
Typical work: Canva artwork, PDFs, brochures, menus, presentations, AI-assisted graphics, print-preparation problems and layout repair.

For agencies and marketing teams that already have an approved direction and need reliable execution across multiple formats, versions or markets.

Packaging & Labels
Packaging graphics that have to work on an actual dieline, survive production and remain consistent when one product becomes a family of products.

Longer-form design needs a different kind of attention: hierarchy, pacing, consistency and a file that remains usable after handover.

For smaller businesses that do not need a full agency engagement but do need their basic materials to look like they belong to the same business.

I am also developing a separate commission practice around pets, places and personal memory pieces. That side of the studio is being built deliberately rather than rushed into a catalogue.
What Design Rescue looks like in practice
These are self-initiated demonstration scenarios rather than client case studies. They show the sort of half-finished or troublesome files I can step into. Visual before-and-after examples will replace the text demonstrations as I build them.
Menu Rescue
Before: too many typefaces, prices that are hard to scan, inconsistent spacing and a file prepared for screen rather than print.
After: clearer hierarchy, restrained typography, aligned pricing, sensible spacing and a print-ready PDF with bleed where required.
Useful for: cafés, hawkers, home food businesses and small restaurants.
Presentation Rescue
Before: dense slides, inconsistent charts, several layout systems in one deck and every element adjusted manually.
After: a usable slide master, clearer information hierarchy, consistent chart treatment and an editable deck somebody else can continue using.
Useful for: internal presentations, pitches, reports and sales decks.
Canva-to-Print Rescue
Before: a social-first Canva flyer with low-resolution imagery, weak type hierarchy and no consideration for trim, bleed or printer requirements.
After: corrected typography and spacing, suitable imagery, production dimensions checked and a clean print-ready output.
Useful for: flyers, event material, simple posters and promotional pieces.
